Overview and metadata sections
Frederick Wolcott was a son of Oliver Wolcott, who was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a governor of Connecticut. A graduate of Yale (1786), Wolcott partnered with others to import goods from China and held various posts in the local government of Litchfield County, Connecticut. He was a state senator from 1810 to 1823.
The collection consists of photostatic copies of correspondence of Frederick Wolcott of Litchfield, Connecticut, with his brother and sister, Oliver (1760-1833) and MaryAnn, and other relatives by marriage, primarily concerning family matters.
