Consists of selected correspondence of Frederic Vinton, librarian at Princeton from 1873 to 1890.

Vinton, Frederic, 1817-1890

Frederic Vinton was librarian of the Chancellor Green Library at Princeton from 1873 to 1890.

The collection consists of letters to Vinton or collected by him, including some relating to his position as librarian of the Chancellor Green Library at Princeton (1873-1890), several letters regarding the Peithessophian Society (Rutgers University), and a letter from the secretary of the Board of Trustees of Amherst College announcing the conferring of an honorary degree on him.

This collection was formed as a result of a departmental practice of combining into one collection manuscript material of various accessions relating to a particular author.
