Hine, Al

Al Hine was an American novelist and children's writer. He died in 1974.

The collection consists of manuscripts for three novels by Hine (Princeton Class of 1938): corrected typescripts of An Unfound Door (1951) and The Birthday Boy (1959) and corrected typescripts and galley proofs of Lord Love a Duck (1961).

This collection is arranged chronologically.

Publications by Hine: An Unfound Door (Boston: Little, Brown, 1951), The Birthday Boy (New York: Scribner's, 1959), Lord Love a Duck (New York: Atheneum, 1961).

This collection was a gift from Al Hine in 1964.

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process.
