Forbes, Esther, 1891-1967

Esther Forbes was an American novelist and children's writer who won the Pulitzer Prize for History for her biography (1942) of Paul Revere and the Newbery Medal (1944) for Johnny Tremain.

The collection consists of "about the third draft" of Forbes's novel Paradise, which was published in 1937 and is set in New England during the time of King Philip's War.
