Lloyd R. Morris was an American author and critic.

The collection consists of the corrected, typed manuscript (598 pp.) of Morris's social history Not So Long Ago; original typescript of William James (116 pp.), with printer's corrections and instructions; author galley proofs of the same (29 pp.), with printer's corrections; sample proofs, and other publisher's ephemera. Also included with the William James typescript is a cover letter from Morris to Charles Scribner's Sons, and a dedication of the book to Irita Van Doren.

Organized by manuscript type and then by sections.

Not So Long Ago was published under same title (New York, N.Y.: Random House, 1949)

William James was published under the same title (New York, N.Y.: Scribner's, 1950)

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure.
