Abstract:

The Office of the President Records: Christopher L. Eisgruber Subgroup contains acknowledgment letters for gifts to annual giving, reunion funds, scholarship funds, capital projects and other university efforts.

The President is the chief executive officer of the University. They preside at all meetings of the boards of trustees and of the faculty and at all academic functions at which they are present and represent the University before the public. The Trustee by-laws charge them with the general supervision of the interests of the University and with special oversight of the departments of instruction.

Christopher L. Eisgruber is the 20th and current president of Princeton University. He was elected on April 23, 2013, and took office on July 1, 2013. Eisgruber became a member of the Princeton faculty when he joined in 2001 as director of the Program in Law and Public Affairs, a position he held until 2004, and as the Laurence S. Rockefeller Professor of Public Affairs in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the University Center for Human Values. He was named Princeton's 11th provost in 2004.

The Office of the President Records: Christopher L. Eisgruber Subgroup is intended to document the administration of Princeton's 20th president, Christopher L. Eisgruber. The bulk of the records will be transferred upon the completion of President Eisgruber's term; however, a number of letters of acknowledgment for gifts to annual giving, scholarship funds, capital projects and other university efforts were transferred to the library in 2018 and so the collection was established somewhat ahead of schedule.
