Overview and metadata sections

Princeton University

The Princeton Prize in Race Relations was established in 2003 by alumni volunteers to recognize and encourage high school students who have made efforts to improve racial harmony. The Princeton Prize presents regionally apportioned $1,000 cash awards as well as an annual symposium on race, which is sponsored by the Princeton Class of 1966. The Princeton Prize has been presented annually since 2004, and the symposia have taken place annually since 2008. Henry Von Kohorn '66 is the founder of the Princeton Prize.

The Princeton Prize in Race Relations Records consist of the files of the founder of the Princeton Prize, Henry Von Kohorn '66. The collection includes correspondence to and from Princeton Prize board members relating to the governance, planning, development and coordination of the Princeton Prize program and its annual symposia, as well as correspondence with alumni volunteers regarding the regional awards and their ceremonies. Among the files one can also find financial statements, annual reports, meeting notes, event programs and related materials.

Gift of Henry Von Kohorn in 2011 (AR.2012.001) and 2017 (AR.2017.046).
