Overview and metadata sections

Calvin S. Hathaway was Curator of Decorative Arts at PMA from 1930 to 1933 and from 1963-1973. In between, he went to Cooper Union in New York and was on leave with the U.S. Army during the War.

Papers are Hathaway's own records from the Museum's work as well as from the Army, where he was in the Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives Division.

Louise H. Norman, Hathaway's sister, donated these papers to the Museum 13 years after her brother's death.

These materials were arranged and described by Merle Chamberlain and Louise F. Rossmassler. Funded by a grant from The Gladys Kriebel Delmas Foundation.
