Allen Curry Thompson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 27, 1874, the son of Glendon L. Thomas, M.D., and Margaret Frances Curry. He entered Haverford College in 1891 and graduated with Honors in History in 1895. During his time at Haverford, he was the class secretary, vice-president and secretary of Everett-Athenaeum, winner of second level batting and bowling prizes, member of the football team and cricket eleven, and English tour. After leaving Haverford, he was a graduate student in history and an assistant in mechanical drawing room and machine shop from 1895 to 1896. He was the principal of Night School in Philadelphia from 1896 to 1897. He attended law school at the University of Pennsylvania. He was an instructor in the Episcopal Academy, assistant city solicitor from 1909 to 1912, a member of the legal stuff and local draft board from 1918 to 1919, an attorney with Thomas & Pamler firm, Commercial Trust Building, Philadelphia, and an author of "Haverford College Cricket." He was a member of the Torresdale County Club, Masonic Fraternity, Bursar Welsh Society, General George G. Meade Post No. 1, G.A.R., and Union League. He married Mary E. Hunter in 1904. They had a son, Allen Curry, Jr. in 1907.

This collection contains a large scrapbook compiled by Allen Curry Thomas during his time at Haverford College between 1894 and 1899. Some of the contents of the scrapbook include: Haverford College football, cricket, basketball, and track team pictures and statistics; lists of entertainment on campus; "Haverford College Cricket" article by Thomas; list of students in the freshman class of 1895; images of Barclay Hall; invitations and lists of people present at reunions for the class of 1895 in 1895 and 1897; questions about sugar refining; correspondence; and a portrait of Professor Allen C. Thomas.

This collection is arranged in one volume.
