Marriott Canby Morris was born on Spetember 7, 1863 to Elliston P. Morris and Martha Canby. He married Jane Gibbons Rhoads in 1897. Morris died on March 2, 1948.
The scrapbook includes materials pertaining to Marriott Canby Morris's time at Haverford such as lecture lists, materials from the Loganian and Everett Societies, football stubs, invitations, pictures of various traditions, personal doodles, Haverford songbooks, commencement pamphlets, and Semi-Centennial documents. It also features pictures of Barclay Hall, the library and lecture hall, his room in Barclay, Founders, the Semi-Centennial Reunion, the observatory, observatory equipment, the Class of 1894's tennis court, the Class of 1885's cricket crease, and pictures of the classes of 1895 and 1897. Following his time at Haverford, Canby continued adding to his scrapbook, preserving materials pertaining to Haverford fundraising, developments in college presidents, the opening of Haverford's graduate program, professor retirements, alumni events and meetings, and classmate and professor obituaries. The last few pages of the scrapbook are empty, but the back flap contains editions of "Haverford Revisited" and the "Fiftieth Anniversary of the Class of 1885."
Marriott Canby Morris's autograph album contains signatures of various Haverford students, their class year, their hometown, and their signatory date. Pictures drawn by Theo W. Richards and T. Herbert Chase.
