Overview and metadata sections

Samuel F. Mott served on the Haverford College Board of Managers from 1830 to 1846.

This collection contains two letters from Mott to Kimber, dated November 17, 1830 and July 4, 1831, respectively. Both letters concern the continued work on the planning of the Quaker "Central School" (eventually renamed Haverford College). The first letter gives reasons for Samuel Parsons' absence from his work, discusses budget restraints and donor information and forecasts the upcoming meeting of the Board of Managers. The second letter primarily deals with the issue of location, with Mott asking Kimber for minutes to a past meeting discussing the topic.
