There is no record of Ernest Bailey having attended Haverford College or having been affiliated with the institution in any formal capacity. The materials contained in the Ernest Bailey scrapbooks— clippings and pictures related predominantly to Haverford athletics, as well as other happenings on campus and in the the surrounding area— reflect an enthusiastic interest in the goings on of the college during a period of time lasting from 1920 to 1933.
The Ernest Bailey scrapbooks consist of seven separate volumes containing materials organized chronologically as follows: 1920-1923, 1921-1924, 1925-1927, 1927-1928, 1928-1929, 1929-1930, 1930-1931. Each volume contains clippings from various local and national newspapers related to a wide variety of college happenings, predominantly athletics, but also the affairs of alumni, faculty, students and reports on other happenings in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
