Overview and metadata sections

RAIR was a one-time publication produced by students enrolled in the Spring 2016 class Philadelphia Freedoms: Cultural Landscapes and Civic Ideas. The class collaborated with RAIR (Recycled Artists in Residency), "a nonprofit organization that brings awareness about sustainability issues through art and design." The students visited RAIR's location in Northeast Philadelphia and explored their archive of materials salvaged from a Philadelphia waste stream. Students then wrote critical essays about what they observed. The project was supported by Haverford's Center for Peace and Global Citizenship.

This collection includes three identical copies of RAIR (Recycled Artist in Residency): Archives and Waste Streams. The publication includes essays written by students in the Spring 2016 class Philadelphia Freedoms: Cultural Landscapes and Civic Ideas, and photographs of the class's trip to RAIR's studio. The publication also includes information about the goal of the class and how they collaborated with RAIR.
