A metal "loving cup." Colored enamel on outside. Design stamped on inside. Inscribed in Russian: "To comrade Thomas in memory of the work of the Society of Friends in Belorus. The Belurrian Red Cross and Health Department. Minsk, 11/20/1922." Accompanied by Thomas' calling card. Some pitting and enamel missing.

Wood in painted wood case from Japan; Buddhist statue, its origins were in China but spread to much of East Asia, and in Japan, the names "were pronounced Kannon (観音), occasionally Kan'on, or more formally Kanzeon (観世音, cognate with Guanshiyin); the spelling Kwannon, based on a pre-modern pronunciation, is sometimes seen."

A sterling silver coin issued by the Franklin Mint in 1972 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In original Franklin Mint case. Front of coin depicts Chief Justice David Lloyd and a symbolic session of the court presided over by Chief Justice Thomas McKean. Back of coin depicts the seal of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the year 1776. Inside the case is a small pamphlet by the Franklin Mint that describes the coin. Accompanying this coin is a program of events to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

A coin presented in 1889 to Benjamin Cadbury by the Spring Garden Institute of Philadelphia. In green leather case with clasp. Front of coin depicts an anvil and wheel woman (?) and the words "Spring Garden Institute / Philadelphia." Back of coin depicts a laurel crown in which is inscribed "Benjamin Cadbury" and the year 1889.

A coin issued in 1840 by the British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society to honor Thomas Clarkson. In box. Front of coin depicts Thomas Clarkson and his name. Back of coin depicts a slave shackled but with his arms upraised; underneath are the words "Am I not a man and a brother." Circumscribing the back are the words "General Anti-Slavery Convention held in London 1840," "Thomas Clarkson, aged 81," and "British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society."

A United States gold dollar issued in 1874. In leather case, which reads, "Bristol County Trust Co. / Taunton, Mass." Coin shows some greening. Accompanied by small slip of paper that reads, "Apr 29 1924 -- / in my box / Auntie Smith's / gold $ 1874."

A paperweight made from the doorstop of Friends Select School for Girls, part of Friends Select School located at 6th and St. James Streets from 1834 until 1856, when it burned down. White knob handle on top of small slab of grey marble. Two labels read, "Made from the doorstep of Friends Select School for Girls. St. James St. near 6th and Market, Phila." and "The school was burned 5 mo. 1st, 1856. From John Carter to Alice H. Carter." The school relocated to 7th Street in 1857 and remained there until 1886.

A triple seal and tongs. The tongs held wax to be melted over an envelope flap, then impressed with one of the three seals: the woman ("ANNA D GRA"?), the dog ("CANIS"), or the mythical animal.

A ribbed brown card case with gold stamping that belonged to Thomas Wistar Brown (1826-1916). Contains three of his cards. Gold stamped lettering inside lists "Edwards and Jones. 161. Regent St" as the manufacturer.

A Wagstaffe watch, now in two pieces and missing hands and clasp. Inscribed, "Sarah Birkbeck, of Castleford, Yorkshire. To Rebecca Jones of Philadelphia. 1785." Inner gears are inscribed, "Thos. Wagstaffe London." Accompanied by two turning keys.

An peace pipe presented to Colonel Henry Maynadier by Chutaha Tauka on May 23, 1866. Subsequently presented to Thomas Wistar by Maynadier at Fort Laramie, Whyoming, on June 28, 1866. Wrapped in braided porcupine quill, sinew, thread, and dyed horsehair, according to researcher David McAlester, who recommends a 2001 film about Lacota quillwork. Inscribed.

A metal-tipped cane cut by Bayard Taylor in Greece. Given to John Greenleaf Whittier in 1858, to Abby Newhall in 1859, to Francis B. Gummere in 1909, and to Richard M. Gummere in 1932.

A section of red stained glass found in the ruins of the Church of St. Giles (Cripplegate, Church of London, England) by Christopher Morley when he visited England in 1947. Accompanying papers include provenance information and an article by Christopher Morley that is dated April 17, 1948.

A Jewelry Box in solid wood, painted maroon inside, with leather inlay on top inside, and gold scrolling around edges and at center of lid. Metal ring attached to top of lid. The front has a metal plaque inscribed "Made of theTreaty Tree, a relic of Unbroken faith of William Penn with the Indians 1682." The inside bears a card that reads, "The Library of Haverford College (Haverford, PA.) The Gift of Allen C. Thomas, 5 month, 24, 1919. Closes by lock and key, which are functional.

A belt-chatelaine that belonged to Margaret Hill Morris, the wife of William Morris and the daughter of Dr. Richard Hill of Maryland and Madeira. Made in 1754 from "guinea gold" from the African gold coast, it has been impressed with ornate scenes depicting cherubs. One carved wooden ornament and one painted porcelain ornament hang from the belt-chateleine; the bottom halves of these hollow ornaments are no longer secured to the top halves. Used for holding keys, a purse, or a watch.

A towel presented to William Allinson (1766-1841) in 1812. The thread was spun and the towel was woven by a student at Tunesassa, the boarding school for Indigenous children run by Quakers. Inked on the towel: "N. H. This towel was spun and woven by an Indian --- instructed by --- Thomas at Tunesassa and presented by him to William Allinson 1812." Some brown spots and damage.

Grubb of Clonmel-school, Ireland, to Rebecca Jones of Philadelphia in "Eleventh month 1788" upon the latter's return to Philadelphia from travel among the Quakers in Europe. Framed. Attached to back of frame are various biographical sketches from the DQB, provenance information, and a note on the sampler's text.
