Ella Bowles Newlin (1858-1950) was a Quaker minister from Iowa. Newlin was born in Marion, Indiana, on February 11, 1858, the daughter of Ephraim Bowles and Elizabeth Epperson. In 1881, she married Abner Lewis Newlin, and the couple had five children together. Newlin was recorded a Quaker Minister in 1901. She died on Jun 30, 1950, in Dallas, Iowa.

This collection is comprised of materials collected by Herbert Standing. Included is a photocopy of an inventory of material from the "Kansas Conservative Yearly Meeting;" a typed copy of a manuscript written by Standing, entitled "A Biographical Sketch of Thomas Chester Battey;" and a typed extract of material written by Ella Newlin in 1935, regarding the "separation of 1877" in Iowa.
