The Shahnameh (شاهنامه) is an epic poem by the writer Firdawsī (940 – 1019/1025). The poem was written approximately between 977 and 1010. It is the national epic of Iran. It includes accounts of the creation of the world, the age of heros, and various historical dynasties.
This is a single leaf of the poem Shahnameh (شاهنامه), a Persian epic poem. This leaf comes from the section about Khosrow Parviz (Khosrow II), one of the Sasanian kings of Iran. Khosrow Parviz ruled from 590 to 628. The manuscript is in four columns, with decorations in gold and blue.
