William Hanbury (1704-1768) was a famous antiquarian. He built Kelmarsh Hall in 1732, in the Palladian style.
The catalog contains lists of books with author, title, publication information and date, and the size (folio, quarto, octavo). Within the catalog, materials are arranged by "column," presumably locations within the library. Several different hands appear in the catalog.

The Kelmarshanae Catalogus was donated to Special Collections, Haverford College in 1966 by Howard Meroney.
