Thomas Davidson (1840-1900) was a Scottish author and educator.

A single typed manuscript on Scottish ballads. This typed essay is noted at the bottom of the first page as the author's lecture copy, and is signed on the last page. The essay does not discuss specific ballads, but rather themes and history of the genre.

This collection consists of a single manuscript volume.

The Scotch Ballads and how they were sung fifty years ago was donated to Haverford College in 1922 by Mrs. F. B. Gummere.
