The Community of Bosnia (COB) Foundation was founded by Michael Sells (head of the department of religion at Haverford College), and a few other colleagues in his academic community in 1993. The COB foundation was created to help Bosnian students escape the Bosnian war and gain access to a better education in the United States through a scholarship program. The schools providing scholarships include all the Friends schools, Haverford College, Bryn Mawr, Doylestown campus, the Shipley School, and several private Catholic schools. The COB foundation was most active from 1993-2003. The collection was gathered and donated by Walter Witte, the executive director of COB.
