Overview and metadata sections
Anna J. Williams grew up in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and graduated from the Wilkes-Barre High School. While attending Drexel, she was a member of the Glee Club and earned her teacher’s diploma. She taught at Penn State for one year, and then became a sewing teacher for the Philadelphia Public Schools. During WWI she served as the secretary of a Red Cross School Auxiliary and sold war bonds.
Most of Ms. William’s collection consists of school related records, such as rosters and report cards. There are also some more personal and keepsake items, such as a lyric sheet of Drexel songs and a letter made up of updates from her old classmates. The contents are dated from 1913 to 1918. The collection was donated anonymously and was in no particular order.
