Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP) vault contents collection, 1886-1996. In 2010, the collection was re-housed from an MCP vault on Henry Avenue to the Legacy Center Archives and Special Collections at the Drexel University College of Medicine. This extensive collection consists of financial materials related to the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania (WMCP), Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP), Hahnemann University (HU), Allegheny Health Education and Research Foundation (AHERF), and Allegheny University (AU). Part of the collection focuses on WMCP endowment funds, bequests, grants, gifts, and contracts. Materials include notebooks, check receipts, transmittal documents, acknowledgment letters, correspondence, memoranda, copies of wills, and treasurer's accounts. Another part of the collection focuses on MCP, HU, AHERF, and AU: accounts receivable, treasury, and special funds ledgers; special funds trial balance and grant funds balance; special funds cash receipts; various reports (board, committee, development, budget, and audit) with minutes and correspondence; bank notes, bank books, loans, grants, agreements, bonds, statements, deposit worksheets, payroll, projections, studies, licenses, and mortgage settlement papers; and other correspondence and memoranda. This part of the collection includes the files of Joseph Salerno, MCP's VP for Financial Affairs and Treasurer, including Pennsylvania Higher Education Facilities Authority (PHEA) applications and purchase and sale authorizations; Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute (EPPI) inventory, correspondence, memoranda, finance reports; and Clinical Teaching Services and Building funds, reports, correspondence, and memoranda.
