Overview and metadata sections

Russian-born pianist Isabelle Vengerova (1877-1956) taught at the Imperial Conservatory in St. Petersburg between 1906 and 1920, after which she toured the USSR and Europe. A year after settling in the United States in 1923 she joined the piano faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music. Ten years later, in 1933, she also began teaching at the Mannes College of Music. She continued teaching at both institutions until her death in 1956.

Materials were contributed by former students of Vengerova at the Curtis Institute of Music.
