David Heber Plank, Berks Co., Pa., physician, was born on 12 Nov. 1842. He married Ida Eugenia Bertolet, 1877; they had six sons. Plank died on 4 Jan. 1906. Plank studied medicine in the office of Birdsboro physician B. F. Bunn, then attended the University of Pennsylvania and received an M.D. in 1867. He opened a medical practice in Morgantown, Pa.
Ledger, 1865-1868, of accounts of unknown merchant in Caernarvon township, Pa., used as index and file for correspondence, 1882-1899, of physician D. Heber Plank. Correspondence file contains incoming letters and drafts of outgoing letters concerning family genealogical research; analyses of manganese ore found by Plank in Bucks County; notes on medical cases; Plank's application as examining physician for local pension board; and personal financial and estate matters. Includes correspondence with physician W. S. Watson concerning legality and efficiency of methods of financial record-keeping for physicians.
