Edgar Stanley Buyers was born on 6 Sept. 1878. He died of heart failure on 25 Jan. 1962. Buyers received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1902. He practiced medicine in Norristown, Pa. Buyers was on the medical staffs of Montgomery Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospital and examining physician to the Norristown Draft Board. He was also surgeon to the Pennsylvania Railroad Company and physician to the Philadelphia Electric Company. In 1953, he represented Pennsylvania at the First Western Hemisphere Conference of the World Medical Association.

Volume of student notes taken by Edgar S. Buyers on physiology lectures, probably of Edward Tyson Reichert, at the University of Pennsylvania, 1898-1899.
