Douglas P. Murphy (1893-1971) was the Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Research Associate, Gynecean Hospital Institute of Gynecologic Research, University of Pennsylvania.

This is a collection of papers of Douglas P. Murphy. Materials include: account books from his medical practice, 1946-1958, listing patient visits, brief notes on their conditions, and fees; a scrapbook and loose items related to his military service in World War I, including orders, health records, telegrams, and his A.E.F. identity card. The collection also includes an inscribed copy of Relief of Pain in Childbirth, by W. C. W. Nixon (1951) and a condolence card sent to Mrs. Murphy upon Dr. Murphy's death.
