Conception Cicioni Romanello (1924-2000) was Secretary/Treasurer of the Washington Sector of the Philadelphia General Hospital Nursing Alumni Association (known as the Blockley Club).
This is a collection of papers from the Blockley Club collected by Connie Romanello. Materials include: minutes (1955-1968), correspondence related to club business, bulletins, banking and tax records, membership lists, and copies of the charter and by-laws of the club. A number of the items in the collection relate to the club's involvement in promoting awareness about Phenylketonuria (PKU). These materials include reprints and articles; press releases from the National Association for Retarded Children; newspaper clippings; minutes from the US Department of Health Education and Welfare; a bottle of PKU reagent test strips. The collection also includes several photos and a 1915 newspaper clipping about American Red Cross nurses.
