The Southern Medical Society of Philadelphia was organized in 1866. Members practiced or resided south of Market street and east of the Schuylkill River.
This is an album of cabinet card photographs ("cartes de visites") of notable physicians. Includes images of William Pepper, David Hayes Agnew, Hugh Lenox Hodge, Joseph Leidy, Alfred Stillé; Andrew Smiley; William Savage, and Robert Penrose. Also includes one photograph of an unknown building, possibly the Southern Medical Society.
