Silas Weir Mitchell (1829-1914) was an American physician and writer. Benjamin Rush (1745-1813) was a Philadelphia physician and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
This is a small collection of items related to Benjamin Rush and S. Weir Mitchell. The materials include: printed portraits of Mitchell and Rush; a newspaper clipping of the Nathan Goodman portrait of Mrs. Rush; a 1809 letter from Rush to Julia Rush, discussing travel arrangements; a [1852] letter from Mitchell to [C.] Moore, Esq. In the letter, Mitchell offers praise to Moore for his sonnets.
