Overview and metadata sections

Alice Bradford Hammond was born in New Haven on May 21, 1875. She attended Bryn Mawr College, graduating in 1898. Post-graduation, she became a teacher of ancient history and classical languages. She later pursued graduate studies in Greek and Latin at Yale. She was an expert linguist in these languages and was well-studied in other Romance languages. She died in December, 1951.

The Alice B. Hammond scrapbook consists of the one volume scrapbook of Alice B. Hammond, Bryn Mawr College class of 1898. The scrapbook is undated, and consists primarily of photographs.

The scrapbook consists of only one volume, which is about half-full of materials. Inside are photographs of Bryn Mawr buildings and scenery, most of which appear to have been taken considerably later than the dates of Hammond's attendance at Bryn Mawr would indicate. They are small amateur photographs of fairly good quality, many of winter scenes.

Because the photographs within this scrapbook are undated, it may not be of use to a researcher hoping to study visual materials from a precise era. However, the photos are of good quality and would be of interest to those with a casual interest in older photos of Bryn Mawr College.
