Topics include business and civic interests in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting committe aiding German Separatists led by Joseph M. Bimeler (Baumler), Separation of 1827-1828, slavery and immigration of free Black people to Haiti, War of 1812, etc. Letters (1854-1857) of Thomas Garrett (1789-1871) discuss his work assisting fleeing formerly enslaved people.
