- Abstract:
- The Lebanon Hospital for Mental Diseases of Syria (now Lebanon) was founded in 1898 by Theophilus Waldmeier, who spent more than 40 years in Abyssinia and Syria in educational missionary work.The American Committee was founded in 1897 by Waldemier "for the purpose of interesting Americans in this cherished plan for support of this hospital" (minutes, November 15, 1923). This was one of many committees he helped to form around the world for supporting the hospital.This collection contains one bound volume of minutes and tipped in reports, and a collection of related materials of loose papers.
