Overview and metadata sections

Mallie Mae Morris, born about 1883, married Walter Feather Yost and settled in Norristown, Pennsylvania. They owned the successful Walter Yost Rug and Awning Shop, located on the corner of Dekalb and Airy Streeets in Norristown.

The Yost family progenitor was Jacob (Jost) Yost (1696-), who emigrated from Zweibrucken, Germany in 1727. He settled with his wife Elizabeth Shambach in what is now known as Whitpain Township. The Yost Homestead Farm remained in the family until 1922.

This collection consists of Yost family genealogy research, circa 1920s-1930s, with notes on individual family members, clippings, correspondence, transcribed deeds and wills, and copies of historic documents.
